BURKERT 20048345 Type 2101 Pneumatic 2/2-Way Globe Valve, NPT 2", CFB

BURKERT Type 2101 (SKU 20048345) pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve. Features stainless steel body, NPT 2" connection, PTFE seal, and normally open (CFB) control function for up to 25 bar.

BURKERT 20048345 Type 2101 Pneumatic 2/2-Way Globe Valve, NPT 2", CFB

The BURKERT Type 2101 (SKU 20048345) is a pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve specially optimised for decentralised process automation. It meets practical requirements even under difficult operating conditions. This specific model features a stainless steel body with an NPT 2" internal thread connection, a PPS actuator, and a PTFE seat seal. It operates with Control Function B (normally open) and is designed for a maximum operating pressure of 25 bar and medium temperatures ranging from -10 °C to +185 °C.

Its unique design allows easy integration of automation units in all expansion stages, from electrical/optical position feedback to pneumatic control and integrated fieldbus interface. Maximum service life and tightness are achieved by the proven self-adjusting v-seal packing gland.

Features

  • Compact and smooth design
  • Long service life and high seal tightness due to self-adjusting packing glands (spindle seal element)
  • High seat tightness due to swivel plate
  • Actuator can be seamlessly rotated by 360°
  • Maintenance-free under normal conditions
  • Stainless steel valve body with NPT threaded connection
  • Suitable for steam, water, neutral gases, alcohols, oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, salt solutions, and organic solvents

Structure and Function

The globe valve consists of a pneumatically actuated piston actuator and a 2-way body. The actuator is made from polyphenylene sulphide (PPS).

Control Function B (CFB)

This valve operates with Control Function B (CFB). It is a pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve that is normally opened by spring force in the rest position.

Flow Direction Below Seat

Depending on the variant, the valve is closed against the medium flow either with spring force or pilot pressure (control function B). As the medium is present under the swivel plate, the operating pressure contributes to the opening of the valve.

WARNING

Valve leak if there is too little minimum pilot pressure or high operating pressure! Minimum pilot pressure for CFB that is too low, or failing to meet the permitted operating pressure, can cause a leak in the valve seat. ▶ Adhere to minimum pilot pressure. ▶ Do not exceed the operating pressure.

Operating Limits

In addition to the maximum operating pressures, the operating range of Bürkert process valves is limited by the nominal pressure according to the relevant standard.

Derating the operating pressure as per ASME B16.5 / ASME B16.34 Cl.150:

TemperatureOperating pressure

Installation Notes

DANGER

Risk of injury from high pressure in the system. ▶ Before loosening lines and valves, turn off the pressure and vent the lines.

WARNING

Risk of injury due to improper installation. ▶ Installation may only be carried out by qualified personnel using suitable tools. ▶ Secure equipment against unintentional activation. ▶ Ensure that the system starts up in a controlled manner only.

  • The installation location must be easily accessible and provide sufficient clearance for installation, removal and maintenance of the device.
  • Ensure that the pipes are aligned before connecting the valve.
  • Observe the direction of flow. Observe the information on the type label.
  • The globe valve can be installed in any position, preferably with the actuator facing upwards.
  • Clear impurities from pipelines (seal material, metal chips, etc.) before installation.
