BURKERT 20075611 Burkert Type 8644 Valve Island, 11mm, AirLINE Quick

The Burkert 20075611 Type 8644 AirLINE system represents a universal interface between process and system control. It integrates electric and pneumatic building blocks into an assembly, enabling a modular and flexible structure of fieldbus modules, pilot valves, and I/O modules. The specific model 20075611 is a 4-bank valve island with an 11 mm add-on dimension, featuring an AirLINE Quick adapter in stainless steel, integrated check valves in ports 3 (R) and 5 (S), and pneumatic HotSwap capabilities. It is designed for internal bus communication and is combinable with Wago systems.

AirLINE Quick Adapter

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Advantages:

  • Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet.
  • Makes it possible to use more compact control cabinets.
  • Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet.

Note

Type 0460 valves cannot be installed with AirLINE Quick because of their size.

Pneumatic HotSwap (Integrated P shut-off)

The P shut-off is integrated into the pneumatic base module. This option allows a defective valve to be changed under pressure without having to depressurize the complete valve cluster or system. When the valve is changed by a mechanism, the open cross section is reduced until only a slight residual leakage occurs.

Features and restrictions:

  • The flow rate of the valves Type 6524 / 6525 is reduced to approximately 80% (up to 20% reduction for REV2).
  • The operating pressure range must be between 5 and 7 bar if the P shut-off is used, otherwise there may be problems with the P shut-off.
  • The P shut-off can be combined with the integrated non-return valves.

Procedure when replacing a valve

Before changing the valve, we recommend bringing the system into an electrically safe basic state. Only one valve may be removed at the same time. During removal, observe that only the P channel is shut off; pressure on the working outputs A or B is released, which may cause a connected actuator to move.

Revision 2 (REV2) Distinguishing Features

Model 20075611 belongs to the Type 8644 REV2 generation. The pneumatic basic and connection modules, as well as the control cabinet base adaptation AirLINE Quick, have been optimized.

System Structure (11 mm Add-on Dimension)

The valve block is composed of connection modules (feeds) and valve discs (working connections, various valves). The 11 mm add-on dimension allows for a compact and flow-optimized valve structure.

Compatible Solenoid Valves (11 mm)

The 11 mm valve slots are compatible with specific Burkert pilot valves designed for high pressures, low power consumption, and short switching times.

Burkert 20075611 compatible solenoid valves Type 6524 and 6525

Type 6524 and Type 6525:

  • The pilot valves Type 6524 (single and double valve) and Type 6525 (single valve) consist of a pilot flipper solenoid valve Type 6144 and a pneumatic seat valve.
  • Equipped with a manual override as standard.
  • Flow rate QNn value air: 300 l/min.
  • Nominal power: 0.8 W (or 2 × 0.8 W with reduction of power for double valves).

Type 0460:

  • Consists of a pneumatic valve body fitted with a double coil pilot valve.
  • Circuit functions: 5/2-way impulse and 5/3-way bistable.
  • Flow rate QNn value air: 200 l/min.
  • Note: Cannot be installed with AirLINE Quick.
