BURKERT 344540 Pneumatic 2/2-Way Angle Seat Valve, Weld End DN25

Burkert Type 2000 (SKU 344540) pneumatic 2/2-way angle seat valve. Features a stainless steel body, PPS actuator, PTFE seal, weld end DN25, and flow below seat.

BURKERT 344540 Pneumatic 2/2-Way Angle Seat Valve, Weld End DN25

BURKERT 344540 is a pneumatically operated 2/2-way angle seat valve (Type 2000) designed for the controlled flow of liquid and gaseous media. It features a stainless steel body with a weld end connection (DN25) and a robust PPS actuator. The virtually straight flow path allows for high flow rates, achieving a Kv value of 19 m³/h. The reliable self-adjusting packing gland provides high sealing integrity, ensuring a long service life and maintenance-free operation.

This specific model operates with Control Function A (normally closed by spring force) and is configured for flow below the seat. This flow direction is optimized for liquids, steam, and gases, as the medium pressure contributes to opening the valve and prevents water hammer effects.

Product Structure

BURKERT 344540 angle seat valve structure and components

The angle seat valve consists of a pneumatically actuated piston actuator with an optical position indicator and a 2/2-way valve housing. The control air connection can be rotated centrally and steplessly through 360° for flexible installation.

Working Principle

Control function A (CF A): Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Normally closed by spring force.

Flow inlet under seat: As the medium pressure is under the pendulum disc, this pressure contributes to the opening of the valve. The flow inlet is under the valve seat.

WARNING

Risk of injury from bursting lines caused by water hammer! If the valve is used for liquid media when flow inlet is over the seat, water hammer may cause lines and the device to burst. Model 344540 is correctly configured for flow below the seat, making it safe for liquid media.

Installation & Maintenance

  • Installation position: Any position, preferably with the actuator face up.
  • Before installation: Ensure the pipelines are flush and stress-free. Clean pipelines of sealing material and swarf.
  • Welding: Before welding the valve housing into the pipeline, the actuator must be removed from the valve housing to prevent damage to the seals.

DANGER

Risk of injury from high pressure in the system! Turn off the pressure and vent the lines before loosening lines or valves.
