BURKERT 387399 3/2-Way Solenoid Valve (Type 0131)

Burkert 387399 (Type 0131) direct-acting 3/2-way normally open solenoid valve. Features a brass body, EPDM seal, G3/8 thread, 24V operation, and handles 0-1 bar.

BURKERT 387399 3/2-Way Solenoid Valve (Type 0131)

The BURKERT 387399 (Type 0131) is a direct-acting 3/2-way toggle valve designed for the reliable control of various media. This specific model features a robust brass body and EPDM seals, making it suitable for medium temperatures ranging from -30 °C to +90 °C. It operates as a normally open valve (Circuit Function D) with a G 3/8 internal thread and a 10 mm orifice (DN10), capable of handling pressures from 0 to 1 bar.

Thanks to the diaphragm separation between the actuator and the valve body, the Type 0131 can safely control demanding media. The solenoid is moulded with a highly resistant chemical epoxy and includes integrated "Kick and Drop" electronics for significantly reduced electrical power consumption during operation. It also features a robust, service-friendly manual override.

Circuit Function

This valve operates with Circuit Function D (CF D).

BURKERT 387399 Circuit function D normally open symbol

  • CF D: 3/2-way solenoid valve, direct-acting, normally open. Inlet port 1 (P/NO) is connected with outlet port 2 (B/OUT), and exhaust port 3 (R/NC) is closed in the rest position.

Materials

The 387399 utilizes a brass housing with EPDM sealing components for broad compatibility with oil- and grease-free liquids, cold and hot water, and technical vacuum.

Installation and Operation

DANGER

Risk of injury from high pressure and electric shock

  • Before loosening lines or valves, switch off the pressure and vent the lines.
  • Before working on the device or the system, switch off the power supply and secure against reactivation.

Preparatory work:

  • Clean pipelines of any contamination.
  • Install a dirt trap upstream of the valve inlet (≤ 500 µm).

Installation:

  • The valve body must not be installed under tension.
  • Seal material must not get into the device.
  • Pay attention to flow direction: The arrow or letters on the body indicate the flow direction (from P → B for NO).

WARNING

Breaking hazard Do not use the coil as a lever arm during installation.

Manual Override

BURKERT 387399 Manual override operation

To override the valve manually, press the manual override (1) and turn it 90° clockwise until it stops.

TIP

When the manual override is locked, the valve can no longer be electrically actuated.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance

If faults occur, verify that the device is installed correctly, electrical and fluid connections are secure, voltage and pressure are applied, and pipelines are clean.

FaultPossible cause
Valve does not actuateShort circuit or coil interrupted
Operating pressure outside the permitted pressure range
Manual override locked
