BURKERT Type 2933 (SKU 20121956) 2/2-way manual diaphragm valve. Features forged stainless steel body, PTFE/EPDM diaphragm, 0-10 bar pressure, and FDA/USP Class VI compliance.

BURKERT Type 2933 (SKU 20121956) is a 2/2-way manually operated diaphragm valve designed for hygienic and aggressive ambient conditions. It consists of a manually operated actuator, a diaphragm, and a flow-optimized 2-way valve body with minimum dead space to enable high flow values. The manual actuator features a plastic or stainless steel handwheel with a diaphragm bonnet made of stainless steel or plastic. The actuator has a compact, autoclavable design and is equipped with an integrated visual position indicator, a reproducible stroke scale, and an adjustable closing limiter. The valve body and diaphragms are available in various materials, including forged stainless steel 316L and PTFE/EPDM, making it suitable for CIP/SIP processes and compliant with FDA and USP Class VI standards.

| No. | Element | Material |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Handwheel | Polyphenylene sulphide (PPS), stainless steel 1.4308 |
| 2 | Visual position indicator | Polyamide (PA), Stainless steel 1.4305 |
| 3 | Valve spindle | Stainless steel 1.4305 |
| 4 | Diaphragm bonnet | Stainless steel 1.4308, polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) |
| 5 | Diaphragm | EPDM (AD), PTFE/EPDM (EA), advanced PTFE/EPDM (EU), laminate of GYLON® and EPDM (ER) |
By manually overriding the handwheel, the force is transmitted via a spindle and the valve is opened or closed. Turning the handwheel anticlockwise opens the valve, turning it clockwise closes it.

Turning the handwheel counterclockwise reveals the yellow position indicator and the scale marked on it as the valve opens further. The stroke scale shows the relative position of the valve and serves as a fixation point for determining the rotation position.

It is the responsibility of the installer and the operator to ensure self-draining. The self-draining angle (α) depends on the valve body size and the inner diameter of the port connection (DN). The marking on the port connection of the valve body serves as an orientation aid and must point upwards.

WARNING
To prevent damage, dismantle the actuator and diaphragm before welding or bonding the valve body into the pipeline.
