Burkert Type 3361 is an innovative electromotive 2-way globe control valve designed for demanding operating conditions. The electromotive actuator with a ball screw positions the control cone with the highest precision. A unique feature is its high positioning speed of up to 6 mm/s, which reacts almost delay-free to process signals and can be varied according to customer demands. Pressure variations or shocks in the medium are not transferred to the valve position. Each flow-optimised valve body can be equipped with up to 5 different valve seats for precise adaptation to customer needs.

If necessary, the safety position can be approached by an optional SAFEPOS energy-pack in case of a power failure. The actuator and valve are perfectly adapted to each other with a closed design and robust surface, ensuring the hygienic requirements of fast and residue-free cleaning. Harsh environmental conditions are no problem for the Type 3361 due to its IP65/IP67 degree of protection and high impact and vibration resistance.

In addition to the maximum operating pressures, the application range of Burkert process valves is limited by the nominal pressure in accordance with the relevant standard.

Operating Limits for Seat Seal

  • Metal seals (Class III/IV): -40 °C to +230 °C. Hardened stainless steel recommended for demanding conditions (cavitation, erosion).
  • Soft seals (Class VI): PTFE (-40 °C to +130 °C), PEEK (-10 °C to +230 °C). Not recommended for increased erosion.

The intelligent process valve Type 3361 offers options for process monitoring, valve diagnosis, and preventive maintenance. Internal measurements of the operating state are evaluated and issued as warnings or error messages if necessary. A special feature of the globe control valve is the screwed-in valve seat which can be replaced to reduce the seat size.

Maintenance and Service

Risk of injury from high pressure

Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and vent or drain lines. Perform installation and maintenance work only in the isolated state.

SAFEPOS energy-pack

If devices have the optional SAFEPOS energy-pack, completely drain it before maintenance. Wait until the LED illuminated ring goes out.

Replacing the Control Cone and Valve Seat

  1. Set operating state to MANUAL and move the valve into the open position.
  2. Switch off the supply voltage and remove the actuator from the valve body.
  3. Knock out the dowel pin using a suitable pin punch to remove the control cone.
  4. Use the specific installation tool to unscrew the valve seat.
  5. Grease the new valve seat thread with an approved lubricant (e.g., Klüberpaste UH1 96-402) and screw it in using a torque wrench (e.g., 40 Nm for DN25).
  6. Attach the new control cone, align the bores, and carefully knock in the dowel pin.
  7. Mount the actuator back onto the valve body and run the X.TUNE function to adjust the position control.
