TLV J5X free float steam trap with thermostatic air venting. Features a durable ductile cast iron body. Covers models J3X, J5X, and flanged JF5X.

TLV J5X free float steam trap with thermostatic air venting is a durable and highly reliable solution for steam systems, featuring a ductile cast iron or cast iron body. Built to handle various industrial steam applications, the J5X (along with the flanged JF5X and related J3X models) ensures continuous condensate discharge while automatically venting air to improve heating efficiency.

WARNING
To avoid malfunctions, product damage, accidents, or serious injury, install properly and DO NOT use this product outside the specification range. Local regulations may restrict the use of this product to below the conditions quoted.
The construction of the J5X series steam traps incorporates a highly precise free float and a thermostatic air venting mechanism.

The exploded view illustrates the internal components, making it easier to identify maintenance and repair parts.

INFO
Maximum allowable pressure (PMA) and maximum allowable temperature (TMA) are PRESSURE SHELL DESIGN CONDITIONS, NOT OPERATING CONDITIONS.
Proper installation is critical for the free float mechanism to function correctly. Ensure the trap is installed within the allowable inclination limits.

Ensure proper piping arrangement to allow unrestricted condensate flow into the trap and prevent steam locking.

Operational inspections should be performed at least twice per year, or as called for by trap operating conditions. Steam trap failure may result in a temperature drop in the equipment.
DANGER
NEVER apply direct heat to the float. The float may explode due to increased internal pressure, causing accidents leading to serious injury or property and equipment damage.

When conducting a visual inspection, flash steam is sometimes mistaken for steam leakage. For this reason, the use of a steam trap diagnostic instrument is highly recommended to ensure accurate operational checks.
An optional lock release valve is available for the J3X and J5X models to handle specific operational requirements, such as releasing trapped steam or air that might impede the condensate flow.
