Use this guide to identify a Spirax Sarco model, prepare an RFQ, source a maintenance item, or check a replacement for an installed steam system. Accurate quotation normally depends on matching the model, size, end connection, pressure range, materials, and application—not only the product family name.

Popular Spirax Sarco Models
These frequently requested models are useful starting points for identification. A suffix, size, pressure designation, connection, or material option can change the exact item, so please quote the full marking when available.
| Model | Product type | Why it is commonly requested | Include in the RFQ |
|---|
| TD42 | Thermodynamic steam trap | Compact trap for steam-main and process-drainage duties | Pressure range, size, screwed/flanged connection, insulation cap if fitted |
| FT14 | Ball float steam trap | Continuous condensate removal with air venting | Differential pressure, load, body version and connection |
| BPT13 | Balanced-pressure thermostatic trap | General-purpose and temperature-sensitive drainage applications | Capsule temperature option, size and pressure rating |
| DP27 | Pilot-operated pressure reducing valve | Stable downstream steam-pressure control | Inlet pressure, set pressure, flowrate and valve size |
| 25P | Pilot-operated pressure reducing valve | Industrial steam pressure-reducing stations and replacement projects | Complete valve code, pilot/spring details, size and connection |
| BSA2T | Bellows-sealed globe valve | Steam isolation with a bellows-sealed stem design | Body material, seat, pressure class, size and end connection |
| Fig 12 | Y-type strainer | Upstream protection for traps, valves and control equipment | Size, mesh, gasket and connection standard |
| MFP14 | Mechanical condensate pump | Condensate return where available differential pressure is limited | Condensate load, motive pressure, back pressure and installation layout |
How to Send an Effective RFQ
A complete RFQ allows the product, configuration, and compatibility to be checked before a quotation is prepared. If you only have a partial description, send what is available; clear photos are often enough to begin model confirmation.
- Exact Spirax Sarco model number, part number, or a legible nameplate photo
- Product type and quantity required
- Nominal size and end connection: BSP, NPT, socket weld, flanged PN, flanged ANSI, sanitary connection, etc.
- Medium and operating conditions: steam, condensate, air, water, or other service; pressure and temperature
- Body/trim material or any material restriction
- Destination country and requested delivery date
- Required documents: datasheet, certificate of origin, material certificate, inspection report, or packing requirement
Selection details by product type
| If you need | Please also state |
|---|
| Steam trap | Application, operating pressure/differential pressure, condensate load if known, start-up load, air venting requirement and connection |
| Pressure reducing valve | Inlet pressure, required outlet set pressure, maximum/normal flowrate, size and whether a separator, safety valve or control station is involved |
| Control valve / actuator | Medium, temperature, pressure drop, flowrate, valve body size, control signal, power/air supply, fail action and positioner requirement |
| Pump trap / condensate pump | Condensate load, motive-fluid pressure, back pressure, lift, receiver details and piping arrangement |
| Strainer / check valve / isolation valve | Line size, pressure class, body material, end connection, flow direction and installation location |
| Spare part | Installed equipment model, serial number if available, existing part code, photos and required quantity |
If the model is unclear
Please send photos of the nameplate, body markings, end connections, installation position, actuator label, and any old label, packing list, or datasheet. For a replacement, also describe what the existing unit does and why it is being replaced. This helps distinguish similar configurations and avoid selecting an incompatible pressure rating, connection, or spare part.
Ordering and Compatibility Notes
- Confirm pressure rating, temperature limit, material compatibility, connection standard, and installation orientation before ordering.
- For pressure-reducing and control valves, sizing data is important; a model family alone may not establish the correct valve size or pilot/actuator configuration.
- For maintenance kits and internal parts, verify the parent equipment model and revision before purchase. A photo or original part code is strongly preferred.
- Brand names and model numbers on this page are used for product identification and technical reference. Final suitability should be confirmed against the applicable datasheet and your operating conditions.
